Tell us a little about yourself and your path to Tactel
It all started with a thesis project back in 2008. By pure chance, I saw that Tactel was looking for thesis students, and that’s where it began. Today, I work as a System Architect, which basically means I get to be a practical problem solver. Together with my colleagues in Team Carbon, I build robust, secure, and scalable systems that are designed to stand the test of time.
What does a typical workday look like?
A typical day is a mix of making big technical decisions, performing code reviews, and doing hands-on work with the team. My tasks range from high-level architecture and security to diving into the code myself to solve problems. It is important for me to stay close to the building process. Working directly in the code helps me understand problems on a deeper level and ensures I am involved in creating solutions that actually make it all the way to the finish line.

The fun part is stripping away unnecessary complexity, finding smart solutions, and still getting to write the code myself.
What makes Tactel, Tactel?
For me, Tactel is a place where specialist expertise meets an unpretentious culture. We take on large, complex projects, yet the environment feels familiar and close-knit. From day one, this place felt like home. I’m not just "visiting"; I’m a natural part of the team. We’re empowered to take responsibility for the bigger picture, and having extremely competent colleagues to bounce tough problems off makes all the difference. That is what Tactel is all about.
And what about when you're not working?
Outside of work, I almost always have a project on the go, whether it’s building my own guitar pedals or tinkering with old clockwork mechanisms. Music is also a huge passion of mine; I play guitar, compose, and have a home studio. In between those projects, I like to relax by cooking, gardening, baking, and doing a bit of homebrewing.
Any advice for someone who wants to work here?
Stay curious and unpretentious. Here, we really value people who want to understand the craft at a deeper level.
