Tell us a little about yourself and your path to Tactel
The journey to Tactel started with my thesis project. A few of my friends were already working here, so I simply asked if it would be possible to do my project at the Malmö office. And it was! :) I felt right at home from the start, and it seemed like Tactel felt the same way about me. When my thesis was finished, I was offered the chance to stay, and I was more than happy to say yes.
Today, I work as an Android Developer in Modular Interactive, where we develop a flexible platform for building in-flight entertainment systems.
What does a typical workday look like?
A typical day usually starts with the team reviewing incoming issues and prioritizing what we should focus on next. We also check if anyone needs help or if anything urgent has come up. After the morning sync, I pick up where I left off the day before, working either on the app itself or our test automation.
The rest of the day is usually a nice mix of development, code reviews, problem-solving, and collaborating with colleagues. I especially enjoy the exchange of knowledge between us, and with so many talented developers and testers around me, there is always something new to learn.

We have many talented developers and testers who are great at different things. By sharing knowledge with each other, we all get better.
What makes Tactel, Tactel?
There’s a lot happening at Tactel, both within our projects and outside of them. We work on exciting things that are constantly evolving, but there’s also a culture where we do a lot together. It’s everything from horseback riding and tasting events to dance and other activities. This way you get to know colleagues from across the whole company, not just the people you work with every day. I think that’s something many people appreciate, and it really contributes to the sense of community we have here.
And what about when you're not working?
When I’m not working, much of my free time revolves around beer. One day a week, I work at a small craft brewery outside Malmö, and the rest of my brewing happens together with friends at a brewing collective in town. Sometimes I even compete with my own recipes, for example in the Swedish Homebrewing Championships. I also enjoy traveling, preferably by train through Europe, discovering new places along the way. And if there happens to be a local microbrewery nearby, that certainly doesn't hurt ;)
Any advice for someone who wants to work here?
Be curious and show that you want to contribute to our journey. At Tactel, we appreciate people who are eager to learn new things, help their colleagues, and contribute to our community.
